Moreover, it aims to contribute the reinforcement of Europe\u2019s technological sovereignty and security self\u00adreliance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 The fund\u2019s founding team includes former Spanish presidential candidate Pablo Casado, defense industry experts Joaqu\u00edn Ortiz and Jos\u00e9 Antonio Bartrina, and financier Ricardo G\u00f3mez\u00adAcebo. Principal Daniel Lorrain joins from CapitalOne, and associates Juan Mu\u00f1oz and Marina Quintero, from Citibank and Banco Santander.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 Hyperion Fund is managed by Singular Bank Asset Management SGIIC, partner of Warburg Pincus, with more than 12 billion euros of assets under management. The anchor investor is Nortia investment holdings, a relevant shareholder in listed companies such as Sacyr or Merlin.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 The fund\u2019s international advisory board features statemen such as former NATO Secretary General, Anders Fogh Rasmussen; former U.S. Under Secretary of State, Paula Dobriansky; former French Minister of Defense and Foreign Affairs, Mich\u00e8le Alliot; and prominent investors such as Mart\u00edn Varsavsky (Spain), Richard Hurowitz (USA), Nicole Junkermann (Germany), and Ilan Leiferman (Israel).<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2022 The closing coincides with the meeting of its advisory committee in Madrid, with former U.S. Under Secretary of State Paula Dobriansky, former Under Secretary of Defense and White House advisor Carlos D\u00edaz Rosillo, and former Director of the Pentagon\u2019s Defense Security Cooperation Agency, General Charles Hooper.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madrid, January 8th, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Hyperion Fund FCR was approved by Spain\u2019s National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) on January 19th, 2024. Less than one year later, the fund completed its third and final closing, raising \u20ac48.6 million last December. This followed a second closing of \u20ac48.5 million in November and an initial closing of \u20ac53.15 million in June. Capital was mainly raised from European institutional funds, defense public listed primes, and security and aerospace private companies. This highlights the fund\u2019s role in supporting the industrial and technological development of the sector in Europe.<\/p>\n<p>Hyperion\u2019s plans to invest a fourth of its capital within the next year, from its 200 companies\u2019 portfolio. The growing strategy focuses to strengthen the international expansion and to boost their competitiveness in adjacent industries, including telecommunications, energy, mobility, and infrastructures.<\/p>\n<p>The partners of Hyperion Fund with Paula Dobriansky Dual\u00aduse technologies traditionally came from the military, such as GPS, internet, laser, microwave, ultrasound or infrared technology.
